Rogue Mechanist · Neo-Kowloon, 2091

Kaelen Vosk

A smuggler who rebuilds his own limbs faster than the law can catalogue them. Designed around silhouette first — every plate reads at a glance, even in motion.

Sculpted in

Blender · Substance Painter · Marmoset Toolbag

Forest Warden · The Ashwood Reach

Ember

A guardian grown rather than built, bark and coal-light knit into one figure. The brief was warmth without softness — she still has teeth.

Exosuit Pilot · Orbital Yard 14

Vantablack-9

A war-worn frame built from a single kit of interchangeable plating. Sculpted for wear first — every scar is placed, not painted on after.

Deep-Sea Cartographer · The Sunless Trench

Mira Thessaly

Her diving rig doubles as a light source — every seam on the suit was placed to catch a rim light the way real neoprene never could.

Forgemaster · The Hollow Peaks

Grynn Hollowpeak

Carved rather than modelled, in spirit if not in method — every surface keeps a chisel mark. Built to hold a silhouette from across a room.

Shadow Broker · The Unlit Quarter

Sable

Designed to disappear in three-quarter light and command it in full. The mask reads as a face without ever showing one.

Workflow

Four passes, every time

The same pipeline for a game-ready bust or a full cinematic character.

  1. 01

    Sculpt

A rough block-in first, resolved in passes — silhouette, then form, then the detail that survives at a distance.

  2. 02

    Retopo

Clean, animation-ready topology laid over the sculpt by hand, with edge loops placed where the rig will actually bend.

  3. 03

    Texture

Materials built from real reference — wear, grime and fabric weight — and baked down for a game or a film-render engine alike.

  4. 04

    Rig

A control rig sized to the character's own proportions, tested against a short motion pass before it ever ships.

About

Ten years of giving imaginary people a face.

Wren Osei is a character artist working across games, film previsualisation and the occasional piece that exists purely because it wouldn't leave me alone. The brief is always the same: a silhouette that reads in a second and a surface that rewards a closer look.

Based between commissions and a very messy desk. Available for a small number of new character projects each year — enquire early, the calendar fills fast.
